In our previous article for brides, we discussed how shooting an engagement session can help brides get the most out of their wedding photographs. Just like your wedding, your engagement session should reflect you and your partner’s individual tastes and personalities. We’ve assembled a list of our five favourite locations to shoot couples right here in Toronto:

1.Evergreen Brick Works

Evergreen Brick Works offer a combination of ideal indoor and outdoor locations, making it ideal for engagement shoots, despite the weather. The picturesque forest trails and natural ravine provide a natural, rustic backdrop for outdoor shots, while the old, industrial architecture with its exposed brick walls provide a more urban side to this great location.

2. West Queen West

This hip neighbourhood in Toronto features an eclectic mix of architecture with its unique array of cafes, bars, art gallery, bakeries and specialty shops. Plus, Trinity Bellwoods Park is an essential location for fun, outdoorsy shoots… think fun afternoon picnic themed sessions! If you want to incorporate pets or props into your engagement shoot, this is also a great location for dogs and bikes.

3. Financial District

For those who are looking for a more contemporary, modern theme for their engagement session, the Financial District contains some of Toronto’s most beautiful and historical architecture. It offers a timeless architectural setting with its sleek glass walls and smooth, contemporary modern lines in conjunction with classic architecture in order to create a distinct Toronto feel.

4. Cherry Beach

For those who love the water, Cherry Beach is a beautiful, timeless waterfront setting for engagement sessions. This attractive waterfront locale provides an idyllic beachside backdrop with white cottage-style structures, sailboats, canoes and a lovely, sandy beach. A gorgeous tree-lined trail also provides a great, rustic atmosphere for nature-themed shoots.

5. Fashion and Design District

One of our favourite locations for engagement sessions is in our own backyard, Toronto’s Fashion and Design District. Starting at the MANGO Gallery located at Richmond and Brant, our route includes four to five locations within a five block radius. You can expect the eclectic architecture of Queen West in conjunction with the industrial brick buildings near Adelaide and King Street. The neighbourhood park also acts as a great stop for some greenery.
