Welcome to the family…

The Mango Story.
(It’s a love story, really.)

So once upon a time in the far away land of Toronto, Canada the dashing young Mo meets the most charming little lady named Nancy. And guess what? They have been inseparable ever since. But wait, it gets better! Instead of holding hands and walking into the sunset together (so last century), they decide to do it better: Nancy becomes Mo’s Partner in Crime, his SIde Kick, his Confidante, and if you ask him he will tell you: “his very best friend in the whole wide world”. (Awww.) But Nancy also happens to be an incredibly talented Visual Artist and Award Winning Photographer with a Visual Arts Degree from York University. And Mo’s not too shabby an Artist himself. It’s better than a (heart) story: it’s an Art (Heart) story! Mo graduates from Ryerson University and together they decide to conquer the world. But first, they need a name. So one day while the future Mamma + Poppa Mango are mucking about with ideas they write down the letters of their own name and…. Mo And Nancy GOvindji… do you see it? Magic.

So with their four feet and one heartbeat, the two set out: just two passionate artists who photograph really wonderful people, moments, love, laughter and everything that happens in between.

Now that was all back in 2002. Fast forward 5 years and the young innocent duo have now grown into a quite well-established, well-travelled photographic team. But there is a lot of love in this world, and just as the two were beginning to think they might need a little help carrying the growing flame, in walks Mr. Zach Hertzman L’artiste Extraordinaire. He strolls through the doors of Mango Studios with a wide range of impressive skills, which include balancing a 70-200 L series lens on his head while juggling and singing Johnny Cash renditions, shooting an entire wedding blindfolded with a disposable camera (not yours of course) and a host of equally dazzling achievements.

Zach’s own Art Love Story began when he happened upon his father’s old Nikon camera in his basement. And guess what? The two fell madly in love. It was an inspired love, which led Zach to study the fine arts in London and Montreal and become an accomplished artist who’s work has been shown at gallery nationally. He instantly became an integral part of the little Mango family, Mango’s “Enfant Terrible” if you will. Zach has an incredible eye for lighting and design and together the three collaborate and work on projects with a rare fluidity. It was fate.
