This Erin Estate Wedding Is What Dreams Are Made OfInside a whimsical and romantic wedding in the woods

Boho Erin Estate wedding in Toronto

This Erin Estate wedding was styled by the ridiculously amazing bride herself. I know Lysandra and Joe were feeling the pinch (Lysandra being one of our amazing wedding production coordinators) to put on an amazing wedding. However, in my opinion, they did it flawlessly. The people, the food, good music, and family were foremost and the rest just fell into place.

Wow, what can I say? There is way too much backstory to get into here, however here it is in short:

Lysandra is our production fairy, who oversees everything from photo editing to album printing. She’s also one of the most talented photographers and artists I’ve ever met, so to be chosen to document one of the most important days in her life was a huge honor.

I know how much work and dedication Lysandra put into planning and executing her own wedding. From the invitation design to bridesmaid dresses and all the little things in between – she put in countless hours perfecting her wedding mood board and picking the right details that would bring her vision to life. Being a huge fan of Lysandra’s artistic style and work, I felt an enormous pressure to document her wedding that would be true to who she is as an artist and preserve those precious moments she experienced as a bride. That is why, when it came to photographing her wedding, I did my best to make sure her Erin Estate wedding photos are an authentic reflection of her Big Day.

If you follow our work, you might know that aside from editorial wedding photography style, we are also big fans of photojournalism. It is the core of what we do. We believe that your wedding photos should tell the story of your day as authentically and truthfully as possible. Our approach is driven by your unique story, who you are, your personal tastes, and design interests.

We are also big fans of showing your wedding day as it was without forcing it to be something else. We love that light and the unique atmosphere that filled the room that day. Most of all, we love your wedding because it’s yours, and it’s different from everybody else’s. No two weddings are alike, and there’s no one-fits-all approach to photographing a wedding. That is why we are constantly adapting and evolving our style to match our couple’s unique personality and aesthetics. Your wedding is one of a kind because you are one of a kind. And that’s the beauty of wedding photography … at least for us.

So when it came to Lysandra’s wedding, we knew that our style had to adapt to reflect her personal aesthetics. If you take a look at her wedding gallery, you won’t see a lot of bright and airy wedding photographs. To the contrary, a lot of the photos are moody, dark, and photojournalistic in nature.

Take Lysandra’s getting ready room for example. It was raining that day, and space was filled with soft and mysterious light that was coming from the only window in the room. It was a dark spot, and we used it to our advantage. Instead of recreating the bright and airy bridal shots you see on Instagram, we focused on using the light to bring in the drama and romance of Lysandra’s getting ready.

The wedding ceremony took place in the middle of the woods and I loved the enchanted atmosphere of the place. The rain didn’t stop the guests from enjoying every moment, and you could spot me tearing up with tears of joy with everybody else. As the ceremony concluded and the two were announced a husband and wife, Lysandra, Joe and I headed to the woods to take more photos. Lysandra’s gorgeous gown train was completely ruined by water and dirt at this point, but she couldn’t care less. You could really see that the two felt like they were alone in this world and soaked up every moment of being a bride and groom.

Lysandra and Joe, you truly are two of the kindest, humble, and talented human beings out there. You deserve it all. I’m so grateful you two decided to have me along to document your epic occasion… thank you.
