Earlier this winter my team and I put together The Broadview Hotel wedding inspiration photoshoot. A small styled shoot that involved some of my favourite wedding industry vendors. I wanted to celebrate the start of the winter wedding season with something very simple. The wedding industry is always changing and evolving, it’s easy to feel burnt out creatively at the end of the year. With so many gorgeous weddings and a cornucopia of events, I wanted to take some time to focus on what inspires me the most. Freeze the moment. Get my creative juices flowing. Renew and recharge. This is how I came up with The Broadview Hotel wedding inspiration.

I envisioned a charming couple spending the morning of their wedding day together in one of the splendid rooms. They would spend their morning hours basking in the glowing sun and soaking in every minute of their day. They would help each other get ready, as I think there’s something very special about getting ready together. All dressed up and ready to go, they would embark on the journey of a lifetime. The morning of your wedding is such a special time and I wanted the photos to show that. As the soft morning sun drenches through the windows, it fills the entire room with a magical light. I envisioned taking cozy wedding photos that illustrates the unique relationship every couple shares. Those quirks that made you fall in love, a loving gaze, a strong embraces. All the little things that make-up who you are and where you were on the morning of your wedding.

The Broadview Hotel is the newest addition to the lineup of stunning wedding venues in Toronto. With its rich historic past and newly renovated facade, it makes for a welcome addition to the modern and stylish wedding venues in the city. Located in the Queen East neighbourhood, The Broadview Hotel is a trendy hotel perfect for a modern urban couple. My team had the privilege to photograph the very first wedding that took place in this newly opened hotel (it’s going to be featured soon and I promise I will share it with you the moment it’s published in the magazine!).  I was immediately hooked to its relaxed and chic vibe. I knew right then and there that I had to organize a creative shoot featuring this gorgeous space. Luckily for me, The Broadview Hotel was very excited to collaborate. This is how it all started!

I was inspired by the hotel’s rich deep textures and colours. I wanted the entire photo shoot to feel intimate, cozy and relaxed. I would keep it small and simple, all I needed was two people in love, a delicate winter bouquet and beautiful wedding gowns to bring my vision to life.

Collaborating with the finest wedding industry experts brought my vision to life. Blush & Bloom, a florist extraordinaire and Lavish Flair, a team of makeup and hair wizards, are no exception! They were a dream to work with and I loved how we bounced ideas off of each other.

As winter is all about deep, burgundy tones, I envisioned having a loose bridal bouquet that would echo The Broadview Hotel pretty colours. Mango’s longtime dear friend, Becky De Oliveira from Blush & Bloom worked her magic and brought show stopping florals to the shoot. Her tender, merlot bouquets with a delicate touch of yellow flowers brightened the hotel’s room and really brought the space to life. As for the makeup and hair, we wanted to keep it light, airy and dreamy.  I think that the talented team at Lavish Flair did a great job emphasizing and multiplying our charming model’s natural beauty.

Of course, a wedding inspiration would not be complete without marvellous wedding gowns. I have to confess, I have always had a soft spot for exquisite Sash & Bustle wedding dresses and I was beyond happy to learn that they will be sending us two of their favourite gowns. Stylish and delicate, they are the epitome of a modern bridal style!

I am loving how the photos turned out and I’d like to thank all of the vendors involved in making it happen. Thank you for your time, effort and talent – it would not be possible without you.
