HOW ARE WE ABLE TO DO THIS? 

At MANGO, we have deep roots in technology and innovation. When things got really challenging this year, we decided this was the time to innovate.

In the last few months, we built a digital booking platform, and equipped our team with a mobile MANGO Photographer app, where they can automatically be connected to smaller more frequent Photo Shoots near them.

We have big plans for the tech we’ve built and deployed. The first step is offer our loyal customers great value so that you will use MANGO more often, and support our Photography team.

The time depends on the season, but the best light is always in early mornings and late afternoons typically. However, shooting outdoors is great when we have overcast also. Generally we suggest booking outdoor sessions in the mornings or afternoons. Indoor sessions in the middle of the day, and studio sessions any time!

You bet! First , we look for the areas with the best light. Then location second. But we keep things moving, so you will get a variety of backdrops and scenes from one shoot location. If you would like to try a couple locations, we always suggest adding a bit of extra time, so we can explore and have fun.

Short answer is YES, we got you! We’re firm believers in “prompting vs posing”. Our shoots are activity based, meaning we’ll give you something to do, vs tell you what to do. This keeps things, casual, flowing, and fun. No stiff posing. We love it when you have an activity planned, like a picnic at the park, or a hike at a nearby trail. Or making breakfast at your home. We suggest you start by thinking about how you want your photos to look. So for example if you are looking for a comfy, and casual vibe, we can shoot at your home. Or if you want something rustic and outdoors, we can go for a hike. We love all the in-between, candid moments and welcome sweet imperfections. That is why, our time together is going to be fun, relaxed and unrehearsed. Our goal is to capture you, being the awesome family that you are – beautiful in all its honesty, messiness, and genuine love.

Our on-location (think park, your home, the beach)  family photo sessions are typically 45 minutes to 2 hours long, and you can expect us prompting you rather than directing. We will document you hanging out in your home, walking in a park or having breakfast together. Things that you do as a family.

Natural light:

As a natural light family photographer, we pay a lot of attention to light. Make sure that the room you want us to photograph in your house is naturally well lit and has a large window. The gentle morning light provides for the most flattering portraits and brings out that magic glow.

Polish your space:

Here at MANGO, we pride ourselves on a clean and polished style of family photographs. We kindly ask you to prep your home for your upcoming family session and keep it free of clutter. Without clutter to draw your eyes in different directions, you look deeper into the moments captured 😉

Outdoor family sessions:

If your session is outdoors, whether it’s a beach or your favourite park, we recommend bringing a few props such as a picnic blanket and your kids’ favourite toys to keep them happy.

You can always add additional hour to your session if you feel like you’ll need more time. Our special rate is $150 for an extra hour (Reg. $250). Please note that even though our sessions are 45-min long, newborn sessions and bigger family groups will benefit from having that extra time.

You can also add time at your session, but there is a chance that we have a session after yours so it might not be possible. Planning ahead of time is the best option.

We are currently servicing most areas around the Greater Toronto Area free of charge without travel fees. We’re constantly adding more areas.

We aim for about 50+ / hour. But often will exceed that number. Our goal is quality over quantity though. We’re confident you will have lots of great options to choose from.

We aim to deliver your photos to your online gallery within 3 weeks.

It’s a great question! If you’re having an outdoor family session, we suggest bringing a picnic blanket to sit on and a few of your kids’ favourite toys to keep them occupied. You can also always chat with your photographer and share some of your inspiration. They will be happy to suggest a few prop ideas depending on your vision and style.

We want your family pictures to be a beautiful and accurate representation of your daily life. So ask yourself: what photos would you like to look back on in 15, 20 and even 30 years from now? Whether it’s your cosy family hangs on a sofa or a nice day at a park, we want the location to be meaningful to you. Besides, being familiar with the place will also put you at ease and help create some of the most emotionally-rich and candid family portraits out there.

This is also why we are making a shift towards smaller Photo shoot services that take place primary outdoors.

Once you book your session through our online booking platform. You will be connected to your MANGO Photographer. Your photographer will reach out prior to the shoot and check in if you have any questions.

We look after the matching and pairing on our end to best available Photographer. We also pair you with the closest MANGO team member to your shoot location. Using the new technology platform we built. We’ve worked really hard to make the process seamless and easy for you.

Everyone shoots consistently, trains together and practices the MANGO approach of cool, candid and timeless work. The portfolio you see online and our Instagram is a collection of the entire team , and is representative of what your Photographer will deliver.

We’ve built a reputation over the last 16 years as being the Top Photography Company. We take your feedback seriously. We’ve built a platform that allows you to give your Photographer feedback immediately after your shoot. Everyone on our team has been vetted, trained and is a certified MANGO Studios Photographer. Our team is made up of a tightly knit group of awesome people who you’ll have a blast working with.

We also suggest being open and direct with us, we’re very easy going and professional, so if you’re not loving the direction, location or anything, just let us know during the shoot, and we will adjust our approach.

This is your opportunity to have some FUN with your outfits! Bring a few extra layers that are easy to take on / off. For example if you feel like wearing a leather jacket over a cute dress , go for it! Or if you want to keep tones neutral and earthy, try matching with the family.

Our goal is within 3 weeks. But we aim to turn images around quickly so you can share them with friends and fam. We don’t make any guarantees at this time, so please be patient, as each project is very important to us.

Newborns don’t stay new for very long. After a few weeks, babies are more alert and spend more time looking around. Those sleepy newborn photos you see are best shot before two weeks old. That’s when babies are most likely to snooze away in their cute little crib.

If you’re counting by weeks, schedule your maternity session when you’re around 30 weeks pregnant. If you take maternity photos after your eighth month of pregnancy, it might feel uncomfortable to pose in front of a camera.

Some of our favourite shoots have been out in the rain, so if you’re feeling adventurous, we’d love to shoot in the rain. We know lots of cool spots that are covered outdoors also. Or you can move your shoot to inside your home or into our studio space.

And if you’d prefer to re-schedule, no problem, please let us know a minimum of 24 hours in advance or fees will apply. Please just contact your Photographer by e-mail, and they will be happy to set up a new time.

It’s very important to time your family photoshoot right. We always base my timing on kids’ sleeping schedule and try to shoot during the time they are most rested. We want them to be happy and energetic!

Do not worry, we will get formal posed pictures first and dedicate the rest of the session for emotionally-rich, upbeat family portraits. Within 72 Hours, we will deliver an online gallery link with your photos edited in color and black and white.

Your online gallery will have a link to download your images, a curated a set of products that you can purchase. You will receive a discount code to use in our online shop in the gallery, with instructions on how to download your photos to use on Social Media, print and how to make Photo Books.
