WOW, this Montreal wedding really knocked my socks off! Beautiful, LOUD, unique and fun – there are no words to describe how much fun I had at this wedding.

Before I jump into their Montreal wedding reception did I mention I also spent another day with these two in Toronto for their Aga Khan Museum wedding ceremony? It was great to spend an extra day with Jahnavi and Raj, capturing their Hindu ceremony at the iconic Aga Khan Museum. Planned by the talented Tanya of Rebecca Chan Weddings & Events, their beautiful Aga Khan Museum ceremony was filled with warmth and family love.

See, that’s the thing that I love about being a wedding photographer. Aside from experiencing unique cultures and traditions, I love the fact that I get to know my couples and learn the story of their love. I learned a lot about Jahnavi and Raj and their beautiful family, who by the way traveled from near and far to attend both their Toronto and Montreal celebrations. Spending an entire day with them in Toronto brought me closer and I felt like a part of their family while taking their pictures in Montreal. It’s so important that you spent some quality time with your wedding photographer before your wedding day. Whether it’s a friendly chat in our studio or during your engagement session, getting to know your wedding photographer will help you feel at ease when taking your wedding photos AND it’s going to help your photographer get to know you and tell a better story of your day.

As we wrapped up their gorgeous ceremony in Toronto, the celebrations grew at their Montreal wedding reception, which I also had a pleasure to document! No wonder they chose Montreal when it came to their wedding party as they are both are into traveling and discovering new cultural traditions and foods. Jahnavi and Raj chose the Montreal Science Centre for their Montreal reception hall because they liked the clean glass aesthetic of the building.

It was a beautiful start to the day as Jahnavi got ready in her traditional Indian attire. The gorgeous embroidery in her outfit was a perfect match to their navy, gold, and cream color themed wedding. Because Jahnavi and Raj put a lot of time into choosing their attire that represented both eastern and western, I really wanted to be able to capture those aspects of their outfits and the gorgeous environment.

After their First Look on the roof of the Montreal Science Centre, Jahnavi and Raj went out onto the streets to celebrate. I absolutely loved that they chose a nontraditional way of sharing their first dance together. It was very festive and so much fun! It was amazing to see them bringing their cultural backgrounds literally through the streets of Montreal while sharing their love with everyone they came across. Jahnavi and Raj dreamed of having a fun, relaxed, memorable wedding and it was just that. Their guests were dancing and singing the night away! I couldn’t help but tap my foot to the beat and feel the music. To top it all off, what better way to end the night than with a romantic kiss in front of fireworks and the epic Montreal city lights! I mean, how cool is it that your wedding day coincides with the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday! Thank you Jahnavi and Raj for allowing me to be part of such an amazing and beautiful celebration.
