Inspired by the Ciara and Russell Wilson wedding? The celebrity couple secretly tied the knot in England where they had a gorgeous wedding in a medieval castle. Luckily, you don’t have to travel far to find a castle right here in Toronto. Casa Loma, the breathtaking venue in midtown Toronto, can make all your childhood dreams of getting married in a castle come true. There are so many unique details and spaces available to you at this gorgeous venue. From the secret garden to awe-inspiring pavilion, there is something to suit your style! If you’re looking for an extravagant affair, we can get some dramatic shots in The Great Hall, where the 60-foot oak beamed ceiling will give your images a sense of the monumental, and the towering bay window will provide just the right lighting to give you that ethereal glow. Seating your guests in The Library will turn your Casa Loma wedding into a proper soiree fit for royalty. The rich wooden panelling and assortment of fine books will work as a perfect backdrop for some Downton Abbey-esque photos – there really is no limit to the mood we can create in there! If you want to take the party outside, the glass pavilion is perfect because it allows all the natural light to pour in while still protecting you from the elements. Every last detail of your wedding, from the intricate design of your gown to the little beads in the chandeliers, will be luminously lit. We can get some absolutely magazine-worthy shots of you two on the terrace just like at Ciara and Russell Wilson’s wedding. Imagine you and your husband dancing slowly in front of this luxurious castle, your veil blowing in the wind, and the sun shining upon you. This is a photo you do not want to miss! Whether we take candids or posed shots, Casa Loma provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos anyway you look at it!

We have photographed many beautiful celebrations at this iconic venue, and Christina and Michael’s elegant wedding is no exception. Hands down, this classy Casa Loma wedding was one of the highlights of the summer. I loved working with Christina and Michael and meeting their (extensive) Italian family. Everyone was so friendly and warm, they managed to make me feel like I was their childhood friend right away! Looking back, I’m starting to think that this is exactly why I love being a wedding photographer. It opens up lives and lets you connect with various people not only in your own neighborhood or hometown, but with a lot of families and couples from all over the world! I’ve been photographing weddings for more than 12 years now, and I believe that being able to get to know so many wonderful people and tell their story in pictures is what has kept me fascinated with this industry for such a long time.

Christina and Michael met 10 years ago in Montreal, one of the most romantic cities in Canada. Michael’s friend made a last-minute suggestion to visit the city. Since their university was on strike that week, Michael decided to give it a try. There they met up with Christina and her best friend, who happened to be Michael’s friend’s girlfriend. They fell for each other almost instantly and have been dating ever since. Isn’t it such a sweet story?

Weddings are a family affair, and it clearly felt like it as we started the day at Christina’s family home – the whole atmosphere was filled with joy and happiness! Christina looked super chic in her Zuhair Murad wedding gown and I loved how their family pup was also wearing a formal bow tie. Christina’s bridesmaids even wore black dresses, just like at Ciara and Russell Wilson wedding!

It was raining that whole week, but it didn’t stop us from taking their outdoor creative portraits in Casa Loma’s beautiful garden. The gloomy weather played out well, as the overcast sky let us shoot in the most unexpected, yet scenic Casa Loma corners which would’ve been overlooked otherwise! Something Different Events worked their magic and turned the castle’s pavilion into a stunning reception featuring crystal chandeliers and loose florals from D&D Floral.

Christina and Michael, thank you so much for making me feel at home and being the sweet couple you are! I wish you all the best and can’t wait to photograph more of life’s special moments with you.
