BEST University of Toronto Wedding Photography LocationsMANGO's guide to U of T wedding photography

University of Toronto wedding photography is by far one of the MOST popular choices for wedding photos and I totally see why! With its Gothic architecture, lush trees and lots of pretty spots and backgrounds, U of T is ridiculously photogenic. Over our 12 years of photographing couples, I’ve studied U of T’s every corner and can pinpoint exactly where you can take those Instagram-worthy snaps. It’s no surprise many couples are indecisive when it come to where they want their wedding photos to be taken, as its an enormous campus that offers plenty of photo opportunities. I decided to break it down for you, so you can decide what University of Toronto wedding photography location is best for you:

Knox College

Knox College is one of the best University of Toronto wedding photography spots

Knox College is all your secret elopement dreams come true. This stunning venue, although small, features incredible architecture and a pretty little garden (more details below). It is also a great rainy day option as there are plenty of sheltered spots (including the garden, too!)

Features: Two sets of photogenic staircases, lots of nooks with pretty light and cascading arches.

Accessibility: Anytime with a permit. Knox College limits photography to one couple at a time, so it’s all yours once you get the permit!

Memorial Hall

There are plenty of wedding photo opportunities around Hart House. However, this one might be one of our most favourites. It features three tall arches and amazing, glowing light regardless of the time of the day. It also makes for a pretty rainy day option for just a couple or small bridal party.

Features: Tall columns and arches, beautiful, even light and awe-inspiring ceiling.
Permit Info: No
Accessibility: As no permit is required, this location is prone to waiting times and lines of brides and groom eager to take their portraits there, but it’s well worth it.

St. George Campus

St. George Campus might be one of the busiest wedding photo locations at U of T. Be prepared to wait in line to get your photos taken in front of its entrance, but as you guessed, it’s well worth it. Columns defuse the light and create that magical, even light we all dream of.

Features: Full-blown ivy wall, a charming yellow brick wall and photogenic columns.

Accessibility: It’s a busy location, but well worth of your time.

St. Michael’s College

St. Michael’s College offers something different. Aside from the regular U of T spots, like gardens and archways, this wedding photography location features bits of contemporary design and modern-looking spots. It would be an ideal place for someone looking for something different to diversify their U of T wedding photos.

Features: Modern art installation, ivy-covered walls and pretty secret spots.
Permit Info: Victoria University
Accessibility: St. Michael’s College is not a very busy spot which is perfect for someone looking for privacy.

St. Mary’s Arch

St. Mary's Arch is one of the best University of Toronto wedding photography spots

St. Mary’s Arch is a perfect University of Toronto wedding photography spot on a particularly sunny day as it’s ALWAYS shaded. It’s also not very busy which is great, as you can take as much time as you want to take your bridal party photographs.

Trinity College

Trinity College is one of the best University of Toronto wedding photography spots

Hands down, one of my MOST favourite photography spots at U of T. It is spacious, offers both outdoor and rain day photography options, pretty much shaded at any time and looks gorgeous overall.

Features: Beautiful courtyard, photogenic doors and lots of greenery.
Permit Info: Trinity College
Accessibility: There might be other wedding ceremonies happening in the courtyard. I would double check with Trinity College office beforehand.
