Let’s take a closer look at Lavelle Toronto. As a wedding photographer, I get pretty excited every time a new wedding venue opens up in the city. As a pretty avid rooftop restaurant lover myself, I first enjoyed Lavelle’s breathtaking views and delicious cuisine first hand in the summer. I can only imagine how chic and stylish a wedding will look there! Lavelle offers a rooftop experience unlike any other in Toronto’s exclusive King West neighbourhood. A one of a kind landmark venue sitting 16 stories above the city, the luxurious space features a picture-perfect lounge bar, dining room, outdoor pool and cabanas, all with breathtakingly unobstructed, 360-degree views of the city skyline. Their culinary team, headed by Chef Romain Avril, is dedicated to offering premium service to create stunning and unique events and experiences. Committed to delivering world class cuisine and hospitality, their experienced professionals will ensure the finest of details are handled with the attention and care they require right from the planning process through to the day of your special event. Just imagine this: the sun setting down on the nearby skyscrapers, a busy city bustling underneath and a jazz quartet humming classic wedding tunes. Ah, I can’t wait for wedding season to start to shoot at this magnificent venue!
Recently I met up with Dallas Lombardi, who is the Director of Special Events overseeing events at Lavelle Toronto. Dallas has been a key member of the hospitality team for some of the most prestigious and luxurious boutique hotels and high profile event venues in downtown Toronto, while planning and executing a wide array of events at these fine venues. I picked her brain on how and why Lavelle Toronto would be a great fit for any downtown wedding.
Mango Studios (MS): What makes wedding photographs at your venue unique?
Dallas Lombardi (DL): I believe Lavelle is the ideal environment for a multitude of events. It offers a unique dining experience, amazing views and impeccable style. Aside from its pools, contemporary French creations and private cabanas, Lavelle features breathtakingly unobstructed, 360-degree views of the city skyline!
MS: Who is the Lavelle couple?
DL: I imagine a Lavelle couple to be modern, chic, and sophisticated.
MS: What photos are you most excited to see post wedding day?
DL: The venue transforms, each and every event. I believe ceremony photos will be stunning as they will take place outdoors situated on a glass floor on one of three pools. Or alternatively, on our South East Terrace overlooking Toronto’s skyline and the breathtaking view of the CN Tower!
MS: How do you help your couple’s search for a wedding photographer?
DL: I believe pairing couples with a photographer that suits their personalities and style is very important. Previous experiences working together within the venue is also something I’m looking at when suggesting a photographer to our couples.
MS: What is it about Mango Studios, that attracts you and your couples?
DL: I love the fact that Mango is a full service photography studio, and appeals to new modern-day clientele (both corporate and social). All photographers and staff are young, cheerful, calm, cool, collected, and very accommodating. I have always had very positive experiences working with the team at Mango!
This month we had the pleasure to photograph’s Lavelle Toronto’s inaugural Bridal Open House. The space was decorated by a talented Rachel A. Clingen to give a glimpse on how a wedding could look at Lavelle. “Ode to Spring” was the design’s overall inspiration, with fresh tulip and cherry blossoms to echo the Lavelle’s signature rose print walls. With all this grandeur and impeccable style, I couldn’t help but agree that Lavelle is truly a great choice for a simply elegant, stylish and 100% urban wedding.
