Spadina Museum engagement photos are always a good option. When Andrea and Daniel suggested Spadina Museum for their engagement photo location, I was all in! These two got engaged at Casa Loma and it was only natural to take their engagement pics right next door at the equally elegant and historic setting.
Spadina Museum is a historic manor that offers a unique glimpse of the architectural style in Toronto c.1900. The surrounding gardens, greenhouse and small winery were preserved so that everyone could fully experience the beauty of the manor. Of course, we couldn’t resist taking Andrea and Daniel’s engagement pics in all of these spots, just look how charming and photogenic they are!
The spacious Edwardian-era garden was a perfect setup for our engagement shoot. I loved how graceful and elegant Andrea looked in her pastel pink cocktail dress, it complemented the venue’s aesthetics and looked gorgeous against the manor’s white facade. Andrew looked equally dapper in his checkered grey jacket. The classy combination of the two was such a great touch.
When it comes to choosing your engagement photo outfits, our number one tip is to wear complimentary colors. Typically, colors on the opposite side of the hue wheel compliment each other. Shades of blue and yellow are a good example, which is why, now that you know that, you’ll notice it in almost every movie and fashion shoot out there. Grey and pink is another great example. It’s one of the reasons you see so many grey and blush inspired wedding editorials on Instagram!
As the sun started to lower and the light turned gold, Andrea and Daniel changed into their second outfit, which I adored even more. Andrea put on a modern tight-fitting green dress that looked perfect against the Spadina Museum’s winery. While Daniel opted for a short-sleeve shirt to echo Andrea’s relaxed outfit. Their clothing popped against the ivy-covered walls of the venue and gave the overall Spadina Museum engagement shoot a modern and chic vibe.
Both Andrea and Daniel are dance lovers, and I’m expecting to see a lot of dancing on their wedding day 🙂 You might think that their dance-loving personalities is the reason why they look so at-ease in their engagement photos. However, I think it’s because of the effort they put into their shoot that they were able to pull off a completely relaxed and effortless look.
That is why, when it comes to your planned engagement session, make time to meet your photographer and tell them about your vision, taste and personal preferences. Describe how you would like your engagement photos to feel. It will help your photographer to suggest the best time, location and tips for your session.
Andrea and Daniel, I had so much fun during your Spadina Museum engagement shoot! I hope you feel the same, and I can’t wait for your wedding this month 🙂
