Vintage Wedding Gown Inspiration Shoot

When I asked my mother for an old vintage gown,  I was so excited to see this 1800’s wedding gown she had managed to pull out from a friend’s great grandmother’s old trunk I just had to arrange a creative photoshoot with it.  I quickly put together the amazing Ivy Lam for make up, Stemz for flowers  and Cynthia Findlay Antiques for some antique finds.  I rounded up the troops at Mango and we all headed out to cherry beach in Toronto to shoot our beautiful model from Elmer Olsen.

(As seen on The Wedding Chicks Blog)

Enjoy.

I thought concept, model, makeup, location...great. But some of the shoot feels slightly posed and a little stiff. Maybe try to capture the feeling of moving, like you are just an observer of the bride as she goes about her business. Also, the wreath maybe could have used some repositioning. Overall, I enjoyed these pictures. Good job and thanks for sharing. And the dress really was so cool!
