Romance! That’s the one word that comes to mind first when I think about this Liberty Grand wedding. Their engagement story, Andrea’s bridal shower at Casa Loma, their love for each other – and their entire wedding – felt like one big romantic fantasy!

Andrea and Daniel’s story is a real fairytale. These two got engaged at Casa Loma during a Beauty and the Beast exhibit, and Daniel surprised her by popping the question surrounded by candles and a rose in a glass case. With Tea for Two Wedding & Events, Andrea and Daniel designed a Liberty Grand wedding in late spring. And what could be more romantic than that? With a perfect colour palette of ivory, blush and gold mixed with lush greenery, the overall look was a stunning, sophisticated romantic garden.

When we first met Andrea and Daniel, Mango knew we had hit the jackpot. These two sought out Mango because of their love for photos and Mango’s overall aesthetic. They wanted pictures that communicated a soft and candid approach while still keeping them extraordinarily romantic and beautiful. After hearing that their wedding inspiration was all gardens and greenery, we had the perfect engagement session location to match. (After you read this blog post, you MUST check out their heart fluttering engagement session!) That’s why, these initial meetings and engagement sessions with couples are SO important. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and form a relationship that is much more than just a client and photographer. We can connect on a deeper level, so that when it comes to your wedding day, hopefully, you feel like you are hanging with a friend rather than just spending time with the hired help. After getting to know Andrea and Daniel, I knew we were going to have a fantastic time come their wedding day.

As expected, the wedding day went off without a hitch. The morning started so sweet and sentimental. Surrounded by her closest family and friends, Andrea got ready in a “bridal suite” she decorated herself at her family’s home. A feature wall of floral wallpaper defined the room, and I got so excited about photographing Andrea in front of this stunning backdrop. It worked perfectly with the garden theme of the wedding decor. That said, my ABSOLUTE fave part of the morning was the emotional, candid moments captured of Andrea’s parents seeing their daughter as a “bride” for the first time. Moments like these, I think how lucky I am!

Andrea and Daniel wanted two looks for their creative session. We decided to go with the Aga Khan Museum and Mint Room Studios for their monochromatic palette and a polished look. These two locations worked great in conjunction because one is more modern with a little edge while the other is classic and timeless. I love the monochromatic look of these images. Andrea in her stunning gown, by Ines Di Santo, and her garden inspired bouquet, designed by Royal Orchid Florist, all against the white backdrops is a recipe for complete perfection! Just as Andrea and Daniel had dreamed about, we kept the images feeling genuine, light, and soft.

Entering into the Governor’s room at the Liberty Grand wedding venue was like being taken away to a faraway land: the type of place that inspires Disney movies and romance novellas. Dripping with elegance, Andrea and Daniel’s Liberty Grand wedding was utterly enchanted. The abundant greenery covering the tables was mixed with the wild soft hues of taupe, pink and lavender florals. The warmth of the gold plates and ivory linens from Have A Seat added to the soft, romantic feeling. Ample glass votives created an elegant, intimate vibe that added to the whole ambience. I made sure to take photos at angles from a higher vantage point to get the full picture of this room. Capturing Andrea and Daniel as they had their first dance was magical. The chandeliers in the Liberty Grand, surrounded by the warmth of the candles, florals, and all the guests: it was a fairytale.

When it comes down to it, a wedding is REALLY about the celebration of love. It’s the opportunity to be surrounded and supported by family and friends as the happy couple takes the next step into their lives. And although Andrea and Daniel’s first dance looked like it was out of a movie, it was also so completely real. I snapped away as friends and family members wiped tears, with everyone knowing this fairytale will last a lifetime. Thank you, Andrea and Daniel, for letting Mango be there to capture your special day!

We look forward to capturing the next step in your lives together.
