I started taking photos with Ryan at the White Oaks Resort, where he got ready with his groomsmen and his father. I knew it was going to be one romantic wedding when he started rehearsing his vows to Alana, and everyone in the room couldn’t help by tear up while he was reading his notes.

After a toast with the guys, I made my way over to Alana’s room where the girls were popping champagne as they got ready. With custom glasses and golden straws, these queens looked fabulous in their matching, navy robes. Alana then changed into her wedding dress and her mother helped her to put on the final touches. One of my favorite photo moments was when her mother started tearing up as Alana began reading a card from her husband-to-be. I was reminded about what brought me to wedding photography in the first place – it’s the human connection, emotions, and love that keeps me inspired through all these years. The bride getting ready moments are so quiet and precious, and it’s my job to make sure that all of these in-between moments do not go unnoticed. As Alana finished reading the note, it was time for her girls and family to send her off to the wedding ceremony. It was clear how much love family and friends had for Alana. There was definitely love in the air at this wedding!

In touch with their Catholic roots, Alana and Ryan decided on St. Vincent de Paul Church for the ceremony and the emotions ran wild! There were many happy faces and a few tears throughout. Their wedding reception took place at the picturesque Ravine Winery in Niagara on the Lake and was a real vineyard wedding dream come true! Featuring endless rows of photogenic rustic tables and chairs, this wedding reception, carefully planned by the team at Megan Wappel Designs, was infused with lush greenery and tender, white blooms. Combining rustic and modern elements, Alana and Ryan opted for the industrial, copper lighting fixtures to anchor the space and give it some grounding.

Every wedding is unique and it is amazing to see how couples are able to lace meaning into details, right down to the socks! Personally, these are the top 3 photo-worthy details I loved most about this Ravine Winery wedding:

1. Baseball Fans

A dedicated fan can never take a day off! Ryan and his groomsmen rocked their favorite team’s socks, literally, which made for a fun detail and personal touch to their wardrobe in a way that was classy yet hilarious.

2. Vineyard

I took the couple out to take some wedding portraits after their ceremony to take advantage of the gorgeous scenery at Ravine Winery. The vineyard was the perfect setting to capture interesting images with lots of leading lines and beautiful symmetry. During this part of the day, I couldn’t help but get excited about what potential these images had for stunning prints!

3. Never a Dull Moment

Alana and Ryan wanted to make sure their guests were entertained during cocktail hour and introducing a little friendly competition sure did the trick! I loved the game stations because it spoke to the couple’s fun spirit while still fitting with the rest of the decor.

This wedding had it all. It was traditional with a dash of trend and truly spoke to this fun-loving couple’s personality. Alana and Ryan, I wish you both the best! Thank you for being so welcoming and inviting me to your big day. It was truly one to remember!
