Ashley and Alburt are one of the easiest going, friendly and welcoming couples I know. They are both super talented, stylish and very smart. They both live really fast-paced, busy lives as they are both entrepreneurs running their own companies. Alburt builds restaurants in the city, and Ashley is a talented florist. Even with the tight schedules they always try to fit a date night during the week. Being avid travelers, they try to travel every three months, even if it’s a short weekend trip to NYC or a mini getaway to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Five years into their relationship, Alburt surprised Ashley with a last minute trip to the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas to celebrate her birthday. Alburt confessed to me that, unbeknownst to Ashley, it was also a disguise for Alburt’s surprise proposal plans! Upon arriving at their villa, Ashley discovered a bottle of champagne and a box of macaroons on the bed. Before she could realize what was happening she saw Alburt pulling out the ring. She told me: “We celebrated our engagement for the following five days in pure bliss. It was the best vacation ever!”

When it came to their wedding photographer, Ashley knew she wanted Mango Studios to photograph her wedding. When I asked her what she was attracted to, she responded: “What attracted us to you was how you guys can capture moments so naturally. They’re not posed or forced, which is exactly what we want for our wedding day!” It is so great when couples come to us already trusting our approach and creative process. As a wedding photographer, I’m convinced that the secret to gorgeous photos that capture the very best version of yourself is having a trusting relationship with your photographer. We are creatives and we approach every wedding day differently to complement the couple’s natural vibe and style.

So from the day you hire us, let us know what attracted you to our work, and more importantly, tell us about yourself and your relationship. Let us into your life. The more we know about you and your personalities, the better we will be able to tell a visual story of your wedding day.

Best of all, having a truly trusting relationship with your photographer will lead you to look and feel your best on the day of your wedding. Instead of second-guessing yourself or trying to control the shots, you’ll be able to let it go and be present in the moment. There’s no better recipe for beautiful photographs than a relaxed, confident and happy couple.

Ashley and Alburt gave us complete reign when it came to capturing their portraits. I knew they wanted them to look effortless and natural, so I kept my approach candid. By directing them to my favorite spots I let the moments and interactions between them to happen naturally as if there was no one around. I wanted to give them their space so that I could capture their love: the way he looks at her, the way her eyes spark when she gazes at him. It was a perfect afternoon, and glowing sunlight filled my frame. I couldn’t wish for a more perfect day or a couple to work with!

Their wedding reception took place on June 10, 2017, and I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Toronto wedding! The Vinci room was transformed into an all-white heaven with lush blooms and golden arches floating in the air. Laura from Laura & Co. Events truly knows how to style a perfect affair. She provided full event design services focusing on florals, design, and decor. Being a florist, Ashley wanted the flowers to be the focal point of the wedding. “I think everyone had big expectations that my florals are going to be amazing”, she shares. When her guests entered the room, the spectacular decor literally took everyone’s breath away. Filled with lush white and gold details, her wedding reception was a fairytale come true. Everyone danced the night away and the lively tunes kept the guests on their feet all night.

Ashley and Alburt, thank you so much for making us a part of your special day. I hope you had an amazing honeymoon, and I wish you a life full of adventures, love, and happiness.
